چکیده

In this work, the pH conditions during chromium electrodeposition are investigated using a home-made microsensor and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). Few studies have focused on measuring local metal none has been conducted electrodeposition. The novelty of work is study in very acidic (pH < 1) concentrated media (>1 mol·L−1). Along with several other determinants, key factor achieving an even metallic deposit. buffers complexing agents often used for purpose but vicinity electrode, at electrode/electrolyte interface, strong variations highly likely to occur. For reason, microelectrode developed scan gradient chromium. This based iridium oxide-modified microelectrode, since oxide reported be suitable sensing. thermal treatment (IrOx) also studied. deposition Nafion layer top shown achieve good selectivity stability while maintaining reasonable level sensitivity. An optimized IrOx was obtained as SECM investigate evolution interface results promising will enable us further develop our understanding

Fabrication of a needle-type pH sensor by selective electrodeposition

This manuscript reports on the development of a needle-type sensor for in situ on-site measurement of pH. Conventional pH microelectrode sensors are fabricated by pulling glass pipettes and applying ion-selective films at the tip. However, these sensors suffer from low fabrication yields and short sensor lifetime due to disruption or loss of the ion-selective membrane after repeated use. The de...

Performance Properties of Trivalent Chromium

A trivalent chromium electroplating process has been io use commercially in North America since its introduction in 1975. Based upon years of laboratory and in-plant experience and testing, many process performance characteristics and physical properties of deposits have been determined. This paper compares the performance of trivalent chromium with hexavalent chromium processes. Factors such a...

Development of a Chromium Vaporization Measurement System

One factor limiting solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) performance is the degradation of chromium containing, ferritic stainless steel, interconnects during operation. When chromium-containing steels are used as interconnect materials a chromium oxide layer forms on the surface. Under SOFC operating conditions (Cathode gas 800oC and 2.5-3.1% H2O) chromium ions are vaporized by the cathode gas and red...
